This role is responsible for general accounting duties including journal entries, monthly closing, monthly reporting, coding review, account reconciliations, and other general accounting duties.
The successful applicant will report directly to the Controller.
Additional duties include, but are not limited to, working with and providing back-up support to A/P and A/R, and tracking capital items from point of acquisition through capitalization and retirement of fixed/capital assets including coordination of periodic inventory and retirement of capital assets.
Requires regular interface with various department managers and staff.
*MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:*
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS
· BA/BS or higher degree in accounting or finance preferred
· Certifications such as CPA, CMA or candidate for such certification a plus
· 2+ years’ experience in accounting as a staff accounting generalist, project accountant, or capital asset accountant preferred
· Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, ERP systems, and office procedures.
Typing and data entry required.
Accounting systems, especially NetSuite, experience preferred
· Strong analytical skills
· Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to interface with employees and managers throughout the Port
· Strong organizational and time management skills
· Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
· Able to work additional hours, weekends, and holidays if needed to meet business commitments
· Able to conduct limited travel, up to 5 percent of the time

Pay: $50,000.
