The Marina Assistant is responsible to maintain the cleanliness of the marina and assist the marina team to serve marina customers and guests by performing the following duties.
Carries out routine cleaning duties that meet established quality standards for all marina related operations; insures the recognized standards are maintained and that quality, and delivery commitments are met.
This is a part time position 20-30 hours a week.
General Responsibilities
Assists the Marina Manager and other Marina Assistants in marina related duties such as securing boats to docks, connecting and monitoring utility services (power and water), waste disposal and facility sanitation.
Provides the highest level of customer and guest services, immediately relays any and all requests from vessels to Marina Office and assists in expediting said requests including transport of baggage to and from dockside, and delivery of provisions.
Provides general security and supports marina and facility in its security related efforts; reports disturbances in dock area to superiors and maintains general vigilance
Provides service to marina and facility guests and assists Marina Maintenance with routine marina maintenance.
Complies with instructions or duties as may be reasonably assigned.
Perform daily dock check list.
Greet new slip holders and/or transients in a manner which expresses a kind, courteous and professional character.
Maintain and clean rest rooms, docks, walkways, ramp ways, grounds, equipment and other areas designated by the Harbormaster.
Ensure docks, equipment and facilities are operational at all times.
Assist and support special events/activities taking place at the marina.
Inspect docked vessels for dock lines, electrical cords, and fenders to ensure safety.
Perform daily trash removal (morning and evening trash) and dispose of as directed.
Assist Marina Manager in performing marina safety inspections including, but not limited to the following:
Dock inspections
Bulkhead inspections
Equipment inspections
Report any notice of a “sheen” in the water immediately.
Immediately notify the appropriate party if fuel is observed either visually or by smell.
Other duties as assigned.
