edu What We Want The Institute for Disaster Resilient Texas is seeking a Geospatial Developer II who will be instrumental in advancing the geospatial capabilities of the Texas Disaster Information System (TDIS).
This position entails comprehensive geospatial analysis and development, focusing on both front-end and back-end aspects of the GIS, enhancing API management, and refining web and mobile application development.
This position will act as a technical authority on both open-source GIS applications and GIS technologies, bridging the gap between sophisticated spatial data analysis and user-friendly application design.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Advanced Geospatial and Programming Proficiency: Expertise in GIS/Mapping software (Esri, QGIS, Mapbox) and strong programming skills in JavaScript, SQL, and Python.
Ability to perform complex geoprocessing and spatial analysis tasks, and develop custom GIS tools and solutions.
Geospatial Data Management and Visualization: Demonstrated skill in managing, manipulating, and visualizing geospatial data using tools such as Carto, Leaflet, and PostGIS.
Proficiency in creating informative maps and spatial visualizations that effectively communicate analysis results.
Data Integration and API Utilization: Experience in interfacing with multiple data sources, including the utilization of APIs and databases for geospatial projects.

Spatial Database Administration: Oversees and maintains various spatial databases, including PostGreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Azure, and ArcGIS SDE databases; ensures optimal performance and security.
Data Management and Visualization: Integrates and manages data from various sources, creating optimized structures for real-time application use; visualizes geospatial data for web and application interfaces.
Database Documentation and Reporting: Documents database architecture and relationships; crafts complex queries and generates reports while upholding data integrity.
