Description
Provides effective, productive and efficient administrative support to the district attorney's office with specific responsibilities unique to the civil division.
Example of Duties
Process incoming Civil cases and transactions related to appeals, writs, bond forfeitures, mental health commitments, destruction orders, nondisclosures and expunctions, asset forfeitures.
Create and maintain files and indices.
Draft and proofread documents.
Assemble in final form legal pleadings for filing in state or federal court.
Ensure litigation deadlines are met.
Review and route incoming documents.
Conduct simple research.
Maintain attorney calendar and schedule appointments.
Maintain client confidentiality.
Answer telephone, take and deliver messages.
Scan and archive.
Operate office equipment, and other duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications
SKILLS REQUIRED:
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, ability to make fine visual discretion upon proofreading written documents and viewing information on a computer screen, accomplished computer and keyboarding skills, communicate clearly and effectively in person and in writing, demonstrated judgment and initiative, business math skills for completing nontechnical calculations.
SKILLS DESIRED:
2 years of current directly relevant administrative support experience.
