We are hiring for a full time medical assistant, who is experienced in the front and back office operations of doctors offices.
Candidate must be experienced in scheduling patients, checking in patients, obtaining vital signs, checking on insurance eligibility, rooming patients, and scheduling for labs and procedures as well as processing referals and insurance authorizations.
Ability to multitask with computer and EMR/EHR experience required.

*General Summary of Duties:*Responsible for providing professional care for clinic patients under supervision of the physician.
Assists physician and staff in coordinating patient care.
Functions as liaison between patients, staff and physician.
Performs various clerical duties such as answering telephones, taking messages, scheduling appointments, copying materials, and creating/filing charts.
*Major Responsibilities/Tasks:*
* Assesses patient's general condition and takes vital signs and weight.
Update and record information and changes in medical history prior to each appointment
* Maintains exam rooms for necessary supplies and materials.
Ensures cleanliness.
Prepares list of medical supplies needed.
Prepares equipment and aids physician during treatment, examination and testing of patients.
* Educates patient/family about diagnostic procedures, nutrition and maintenance of health and wellness.
* Greets patients and prepares them for physician examination.
Screens patients for appropriate information.
Instructs patients in collection of samples and tests.
* Maintains/reviews patient records, charts and other pertinent information.
Records tests and examination results in patient's electronic health record.
* Responds to/refers incoming patient treatment-related phone calls.
Instructs patient and family regarding medications and treatment instructions.
* Maintains patient confidentiality.
* Schedule referrals and tests.
* Promptly answer telephone calls in a courteous manner, screen calls, and record messages for physician and other personnel.
* Schedule patient appointments and procedures according to established protocol.
* Obtain accurate information from patients and ensure all registration forms are complete.
* Collect patient and insurance payments and reconcile charges on a daily basis.
* Process insurance information for billing department in a timely manner.
Assists with patient billing and bookkeeping.
Completion and submission of insurance forms
* Provide information to patients regarding unpaid balances.
* Assist physician with rooming patients, taking and recording medical history, assisting physician during examination
* File records in appropriate sections of patient electronic health record.
* Update electronic health record in advance and update patient information when office visit or procedure is complete.
* Transcribe letters and create forms as needed.
* Copy patient information and forward to requesting party after receiving appropriate consent to release medical records.
* Maintain files and records in a confidential manner.
* Maintain organization and efficiency of front office, including office supply inventory.
* Assist in maintaining medical inventory and placing orders for new supplies when needed
* Perform other related duties as directed or assigned by MD
