Performs scheduled Insurance claim follow ups by payer
Making calls on delinquent private pay accounts
Denial Management – Works heavily on denied claims
Reconsideration and appeals process
Proper documentation of collection activities on accounts
Scanning and attaching documents to the A/R system daily
Refunds and recoupment research
Works on EOB’s and Correspondence
Meets with patients and/or families to discuss insurance coverage and benefits
Secondary claims submissions
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Participate in billing and payment processes including preparing bank deposits.
Undertake collection activity for bad debts.
Obtain managed care and Medicare or Medicaid authorizations including bedholds.
Assist with managing resident trust fund, including printing and distributing monthly statements.
May attend stand-up meetings at the request of the Administrator.
Assist with Medicare or Medicaid applications.
Prepare TARS as needed.
Track Medicare and Medicaid redeterminations.
Completes operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.

Education and/or Experience:
Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma or GED.
Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and employees.
Requirements:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have knowledge in clerical functions and computer literacy.
Proficiency in Excel is preferred Must be able to type a minimum of 40words per minute and use a 10-key calculator.
Must have knowledge of office machines and equipment.
