Coastal Health & Wellness is seeking a Health Information Technology Specialist!
This position is responsible for day-to-day operations of the Health Information Management area.

Required:
Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent
3+ years of experience performing clerical type duties, preferably in an electronic health record, practice management, and/or electronic dental record system, preferably NextGen systems, but not required
Project management experience/training is preferred, but not required
Must have working knowledge of general office procedures, office copiers, fax machines, computers, and multi-line telephone systems and be able to multitask
Must become NextGen Certified Professional within 6 months of hire, on job training
Crystal reporting, preferred but not required
SQL knowledge, preferred but not required
Ability for spur of the moment transportation without relying on organization vehicles
Must possess or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Texas for the type of vehicle or equipment operated
Department of Motor Vehicle check may be required, if applicable
Customer Service Oriented
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent Computer Skills MS Office
Must be willing and able to work evening and weekend hours if necessary
Must be in compliance with GCHD Immunizations policy
Must be in compliance with ICS training requirements
Must pass criminal background check and drug/alcohol screening
An equivalent combination of education and work experience which appropriately demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the above described essential functions will be considered when hiring for this role.
Traditional Duties:
Health Information Technology trainer
Train new end users on how to use EHR, EDR and PM in both individual and group settings
Works collaboratively with customers including end users, licensed clinicians, and IT
Create/update training manuals, as needed
Handle confidential information responsibly
Create mechanisms for exploring structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data
Problem solve and provide solutions and resolutions of the EHR, EDR and PM systems
Collect data from a variety of sources
Assess data quality
Support data integrity initiatives
Define new collection techniques
Identify patterns in data
Crystal reporting, preferred but not required
SQL knowledge, preferred but not required
Backs up health information specialists as needed
Managing and sending EMR tasks to appropriate departments as necessary
Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor
