*Family Service Center of Galveston County (FSC) is seeking a Therapist II, an exempt position, to join a collaborative approach to provide trauma informed counseling, education, and prevention services.
* *About the job* A Therapist I or II is responsible for conducting clinical assessments, developing treatment plans, conducting clinical interventions, and assessing outcomes of clients as part of an integrated team at a school in Galveston County.
The Therapist I or II will join FSC’s clinical team of committed professionals who bring Hope and Healing to individuals who have been impacted by trauma, are dealing with difficult life situations, or are living with mental illness.
FSC provides in-house supervision for individuals with provisional licensure in the state of Texas or a set stipend for individuals with established supervisors external to our agency.
FSC is seeking dynamic candidates from all walks of life who will contribute to a positive work environment rich in diversity, and who are passionate about providing mental health services.
FSC serves a large Spanish-speaking population and offers stipends to Spanish-speaking professionals to assist us in meeting the needs of our community.
Additionally, FSC is seeking qualified Black, Hispanic, and White male therapists to grow the diversity of our team to better match the communities we serve.
The ideal candidate will be able to implement knowledge of the treatment process from first contact to the evaluation of client outcomes; and have effective written and verbal communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills; and a strong ability to work cooperatively with other professionals or school administration either in teams or in consultation.
Knowledge of, and compliance with, the principles of professional ethics is essential.
Knowledge of computers, software applications and mobile communication devices is also needed.
Additionally, a strong candidate will have knowledge of child development, family and group dynamics, evidence-based and trauma-informed intervention techniques; the impact of trauma and adverse experiences on individual functioning; skill in establishing rapport with individuals, children and families; knowledge of psychopathology and psychosocial, behavioral, and psychological aspects of individual, child and family stressors; and be skilled at collaborating with school campuses to integrate social and emotional learning principles to advocate for students at various levels of practice.
Multiple positions are available as FSC expands our services in Galveston County! The available positions will report directly to the assigned Program Lead/Director, with oversight from FSC's Clinical Director.

* Providing school-based mental health services in Galveston County.
* Collaborating with school staff to advance the mental health and well-being of students on assigned campus.
* Leading a parent education group at assigned campus to support families.
* Completing case recording and required reports within best practice, agency timeframes.
* Providing appropriate referrals.
* Maintaining accurate clinical records.
* Ensuring that the services provided meet program guidelines as well as the standards of accrediting bodies and funding sources.
* Maintaining licensure.
* Conducting outreach activities to identify clients, inform community of services and build community collaborative relationships.
* Respecting and supporting client rights, including confidentiality.
* Following the state’s reporting standards to ensure the safety of clients and their families.
* Adhering to internal controls and procedures established for department and FSC.
*Required Education/Experience/Licensure:* Therapist I: Master’s degree in a clinical mental health specialty, eligibility for full licensure in the state of Texas.
One year mental health clinical experience.
Therapist II: Master’s degree in a clinical mental health specialty and full licensure in the state of Texas.
Two years mental health clinical experience.
Ability to communicate and deliver culturally competent therapeutic services in Spanish, including reading, writing and speaking, is highly desired.
