Description
The purpose of this class is to provide supervisory and administrative support to the operations of the court.
Job Responsibilities
Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff, processing employee concerns and problems, directing work, counseling, disciplining, and completing employee performance appraisals.
Coordinates, assigns and reviews work and establishes work schedules; maintains standards; monitors status of work in progress; inspects completed work assignments; answers questions; gives advice and direction as needed.
Assists other agencies, members of the general public, and attorneys in the compilation and preparation of required documents, including citations, warrants, writs and subpoenas.
Collects monies for filing fees, fines, certified copies, jury fees and cash bonds.
Gathers data and prepares monthly and quarterly reports.
Prepares bi-weekly personnel payroll.
Maintains an accurate cash bond record for all cash bonds received.
Prepares and follows through with requisitions and claims.
Makes travel arrangements for the Judge and Clerks.
Dockets cases and issues the required service of process and notices; maintains hard copies of the litigation for case management purposes.
Coordinates civil, criminal, and administrative court calendars; sets cases for trial and sends notices to parties and attorneys.
Prepares documents for transfers on appeal; prepares the transcript with a bill of cost and delivers case to appellate court.
Prepares judgments and other court orders in writing as requested by the Judge and mails to involved parties.
Ensures that the Judge has appropriate forms available.
Assists law enforcement personnel in the preparation of complaints, probable cause affidavits, and warrants for criminal cases filed in the court.
Provides notary services.
Prepares bank deposits.
Sorts and distributes mail.
Performs related work as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Requires Associate’s degree.
Requires two to four years of experience, of which one is in a supervisory position, in office administration, management, operations or closely related experience.
